Our Mission

  • To maintain the relationship of alumni to School of Science and Technology High School(s) (the “School(s)”) and to each other through written and other communications, and social, academic and other events
  • To render aid and cooperation to the School in order to facilitate academic and extracurricular programs and other student activities
  • To award scholarships and other grants to deserving students of the School(s)
  • To raise funds by dues, contributions, events and otherwise, in order to support those activities which result in the furtherance of the above

The SST Alumni Association (SSTAA) maintains and enhances a highly engaged, vibrant community of alumni and friends.

The SSTAA, with offices on 5300 Wurzbach Rd, Suite:800, is the official association of all alumni of SST. Its regular members include  all SST graduates. Others whose names appear on the alumni records of the High Schools, but who have not graduated, are associate members. They may attend any meetings and take part in any activities of the Association but may not vote for Directors of the SSTAA.

The purpose of the SSTAA as stated in its Constitution is to promote the welfare of SST Schools and to establish a mutually beneficial relationship between SST Schools and its alumni. The SSTAA helps alumni connect with the Schools and with fellow graduates through a wealth of Club activities, continuing education programs, online services, and alumni events

The SSTAA has constitutional duties to nominate candidates for elected SSTAA Directors and to conduct the Annual Meeting of the SST Alumni Association in May or June on the afternoon of Commencement. The main work of the Association is carried out by standing committees of the SSTAA Board of Directors, with each Director serving on at least one committee. These committees cover such areas as educational alumni events, communications, SST Clubs and Shared Interest Groups, reunions.  The SSTAA also administers two awards: the SSTAA Award and the SST Medal.

The Board of Directors holds three slated meetings each year in San Antonio. At these meetings, in addition to the transaction of the business of the Association, the Directors are informed about School programs, facilities, and concerns. They participate in discussions with students, administrators, and faculty members. Informed Directors can thus provide knowledgeable leadership in interpreting SST to alumni and others. In addition, the SST Alumni Association sponsors yearly meetings away from San Antonio in conjunction with local SST Clubs and school associations. These meetings assist in spreading the current story of SST.
